Q.My cat is a 10year old tabby. His fur pattern has always been the same. Whar i want to know is how can one single hair of his have 4 different colours? A few i looked at were black near the root, then white then black then brown. Help!
A.Cat hairs can contain several colours due to the 'agouti' gene which slows down & speeds up the process of pigmentation whilst the hair is growing.
