Q.Dilemma: my sister has a really badly behaved dog who scratches doors and wood floors. She wants to bring the mutt to our house on Xmas day. Is it unreasonable to ask her to be locked in the garage for the whole day? My sister treats the mutt like it's a princess. It's a 4 legged sod of a dog. What do you think? I don't my house scratched up but don't want to offend the sister.
A.You should seal off an area inside for the dog, making sure wooden surfaces are protected. A scratch on the door is for life, not just for Christmas.
