29 February 2008

The UK's favourite text question and answer service, AQA 63336, today reveals the public's favourite questions for 2008 as it answers its 11 millionth question.

"We've now had 1.5 million people text 63336 with questions, so we're in a great position to see what's on their minds." commented Paul Cockerton, Communications Director of AQA 63336. "Whilst eternal conundrums such as 'the meaning of life', or 'why the sky is blue' continue to remain popular in 2008, the top questions on people's lips are now 'Who is The Stig – the mystery driver from Top Gear?' and 'What are the lottery numbers?'"

The top 10 questions* in 2008 have been:

Q. Who is The Stig?

Q. What are the lottery numbers for this week?

Q. What came first, the chicken or the egg?

Q. What's the meaning of life?

Q. How does AQA work?

Q. When is Easter?

Q. What's the funniest joke in the world?

Q. Can I come and work for AQA?

Q. What's the third word in the English language?

Q. What comes at the beginning of the end, twice in a week, once in a year but never in a day?

AQA 63336 (Any Question Answered) was the UK's first text question and answer service on a premium text number. Since launch in April 2004, AQA has grown to answering over 17,500 questions per day, and has answered over 25,000 questions on peak days. AQA 63336 has recently increased it's staffing to over 1,450 home based researchers in anticipation of a major marketing campaign designed to boost question levels to 30,000 per day by the end of the year. AQA 63336 will answer any question, within minutes, for £1.
